I’m sure we are all doing our part to #flattenthecurve by staying home, but after a few days of sheltering at home life can get a little dull.
What can you do to make this time more enjoyable?
There are the standard things like binge watching your favorite shows on Netflix, but what else can you do?
I recommend starting with self-care. It’s important to take care of our physical and mental health in times of stress.
Incorporate exercise into your daily routine. Don’t worry if you can’t get to the gym, there are lots of other options. Try body weight exercises, check out Yoga with Adrienne on YouTube (one of my favorites) or maybe you have some free weights at home.
For your mental health, meditate, or have a spa day at home with things like a relaxing bubble bath, an at home facial, and even paint your toes.
Why don’t you try learning a new skill or revisiting an older one you haven’t had time for? I’ve always wanted to be more of an artist, if that’s you too check out the Art Sherpa on YouTube.
If you have kids, Mo Willems, the author and artist, has a daily video where he teaches you to doodle and draw some of his book characters.
If art isn’t your thing, you can learn a new language or learn to cook.
Do something for others, this will make you feel good as well. Call your family, neighbors and relatives. You can also donate to charity.
If you are missing spending time with friends, host a virtual happy hour with Facetime or Skype.
There are online books to read, games to play, classes to take, the options are practically endless.
I’m also doing my spring cleaning; it needs to be done plus I feel so much better after cleaning each room head to toe.
Stay safe, and wash your hands 😉
