Things to do when you are stuck at home

guyI’m sure we are all doing our part to #flattenthecurve by staying home, but after a few days of sheltering at home life can get a little dull.

What can you do to make this time more enjoyable?

There are the standard things like binge watching your favorite shows on Netflix, but what else can you do?

I recommend starting with self-care.  It’s important to take care of our physical and mental health in times of stress.

Incorporate exercise into your daily routine.  Don’t worry if you can’t get to the gym, there are lots of other options.  Try body weight exercises, check out Yoga with Adrienne on YouTube (one of my favorites) or maybe you have some free weights at home.

For your mental health, meditate, or have a spa day at home with things like a relaxing bubble bath, an at home facial, and even paint your toes.

Why don’t you try learning a new skill or revisiting an older one you haven’t had time for?  I’ve always wanted to be more of an artist, if that’s you too check out the Art Sherpa on YouTube.

If you have kids, Mo Willems, the author and artist, has a daily video where he teaches you to doodle and draw some of his book characters.

If art isn’t your thing, you can learn a new language or learn to cook.

Do something for others, this will make you feel good as well.  Call your family, neighbors and relatives.  You can also donate to charity.

If you are missing spending time with friends, host a virtual happy hour with Facetime or Skype.

There are online books to read, games to play, classes to take, the options are practically endless.

I’m also doing my spring cleaning; it needs to be done plus I feel so much better after cleaning each room head to toe.

Stay safe, and wash your hands 😉

Moving to Lutz, Florida

lutz poolDo you know what makes Lutz, Florida such a great place to live?
I’ve sold a lot of homes in Lutz and all of my clients who’ve moved there just absolutely love it! I’m going to share with you a few reasons why I think you might too.
One of the first things that draws people to Lutz is its great location. Lutz is in located in the north Tampa Bay area, about 15 miles north of downtown Tampa, bordered by I-275 on the east side and the Veteran’s Expressway on the west side. Each of these are great options to get to downtown Tampa, the Tampa airport or just about any place you want to go.
Lutz originally was a train stop back in the early 1900’s.  The trains going to and from Tampa would stop and take on wood for fuel. Eventually, the US post office recognized the area as a town and it was named after W.P. Lutz, the man credited with starting the railroad station.
Lutz has great public schools and private schools plus it’s conveniently located to University of South Florida.
There are so many awesome communities in Lutz as well. You will find established communities along with new construction. Are you looking for a golf course community? Or would you like a community with access to a ski lake? How about a gated community? You can find all of that and more in Lutz.

What do you like to do for fun in your free time? Chances are you can find it in Lutz or it isn’t too far of a drive. Golfing, bike riding, shopping, dining out and so much more!
Currently, homes for sale in Lutz from just over $120,000 to over $2,000,000. The current median home price for the Lutz area is $300,000.

Here is one fun fact about Lutz.  Did you ever see the movie Edward Scizzorhands? The neighborhood featured in the movie is here, Carpenters Run! Of course the homes aren’t painted crazy pastel colors anymore.
